Coming this July, a change will be occuring at both Disneyland Anaheim and Walt Disney World and Mickeys may be lost. Pirates of the Caribbean is closed for a makeover. They will now be featuring essence from the movies. Jack Sparrow, Barbossa, and Davy Jones will be featured throughout the ride. Pretty sure it will be a none-changing thing, unlike Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion. Just hope it turns out for the best.

Many of the Hidden Mickeys in Pirates of the Caribbean are the same as the Magic Kingdom's. Kind'a proves it isn't an accident...
REPORTED: David Koch 01 NOV 95
Mickey formed on grill work in New Orleans Square above Pirates of Caribbean ride near the Disney art museum.
REPORTED: Steve Wong 09 JUL 01
As I just began on the ride I noticed two hidden Mickeys. The first was on the side of the loading dock for exiting; if you turn around after you have passed it there is a clear tricircle etched into the wood. The second was under that dock, I saw a blurry yellow light of the tricircle. I'm not sure of the second one.
REPORTED: David Hardinsoner 23 APR 01
I also saw a blurry yellow light in the shape of the tricircle.
CONFIRMED: Barry Lockert 23 APR 01
My Daughter and I went to Disneyland and we found one that no one has reported finding as of yet. It is when you first depart from the load/unload dock, to your right is a boat in the water. If you look at the center of the ships wheel, there is a hidden Mickey, plain as day. You have to kind of turn around to see it but it is there.
REPORTED: Heidi 12 APR 02
I don't know if it's accidental or not, but the nymphoea leaves in the water, just before passing the Blue Bayou restaurant form a definite Mickey (1 large + 2 small circles)

At the beginning of the ride as you pass the Blue Bayou restaraunt, if you look to your left at the second house painted on the wall just before the old man in the rocking chair there is a sillouette of Mickey in the doorway or window pane. Its almost silly that it is that obvious!
REPORTED: Tim & Nancy 08 SEP 99
When you approach the old man with his Banjo, look at the window on the front of his house. I believe it's the lower right one. It's dusty from the inside, but it looks like someone took their finger and made a Mickey by wiping away the (fake) dust.

In the room where the skeleton is sleeping on the bed, it was reported that the notes of music make up a hidden Mickey. The notes are actually square so if you don't mind the off shape then it would be fair game... however if you are a true diehard watcher, then this shouldn't count... hope someone else can take a look soon, but for now our thought...WISHFUL THINKING... On the Pirates of the Carribean there is a Mickey. Not a tricircular one though. It is very distinctive. It is at a part where you see the skeleton pirates and you go through a dark cave with blue, green, and purple lights everywhere. There is a Skull and Crossbones flag that is casted on the rocks and the skull face looks just like mickey without hi very distinctive ears though. Go see it and see for yourself

Just after you turn left at the storm scene with the first pirate chamber on your left, look down river toward the second treasure room. There are two gold plates on the wall in the background and a large six necked candle holder beneath and to the front them. The bottom arch of the candle holder and the two plates meet to form this Hidden Mickey head. Once you pass the first room, however, and enter the room with the objects, the perspective changes between the two plates and the candle holder and the effect no longer works. Of course the ears are still pushed together. I checked this effect twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things-confirmed by person sitting next to me.
REPORTED: anon 03 JAN 98
The treasure indeed makes a hidden Mickey. I would always look twice for one there and not see it, but the angle is key -- it must be viewed from the first opening or the effect is lost.

REPORTED: David McGary 10 JAN 99
I noticed on the ride and in this picture that the red and yellow fabric surrounding the captain is all circles. If you focus on one circle, the other circles form ears. Making multiple Hidden Mickeys, even though they are all the same size, the folding in the fabric makes them smaller. So from certain angles it's very visible. Wishful thinking?

In the first "live" pirate scene, where the ship is attacking the fort (the battle scene), there appears to be a Hidden Mickey formed by 3 cannon balls that hit the damaged wall on your right in the side of the fort. The holes the balls have made appears to be a Hidden Mickey. As the boat goes by the walls, look up at where the cannon are. There is a large hole with two smaller holes above it in the wall. It looks better at a slight angle than it does straight on. It is unique because you have to be at an angle to see this one ....not head on. Seen best just after you pass the ship and making the right turn.

As you enter the scene with the Wicked Wench bombing the Spanish fort, there is a Hidden Mickey on the Spanish fort. There are three cannon impact craters on the wall of the fort beneath the middle cannon. These impact craters form a Hidden Mickey, as was pointed out to me by a Disneyland tour guide. I was told that this was the planned Hidden Mickey for this scene and the ship captain's hat reflection was a fortunate accident.

As you leave the the scene where the ship is firing on the fort, the castle to the left has shadows of two men fighting. Imagineers have added shadows of pirates fighting on the wall. The shadows will, at one point, make a silhouette of a Mickey. It is the same fight that used to be in the town scene. He is the only priate with a spot light on him that makes a shadow in the whole scene. If you look at his hat, it has a real funny shape to it so you know that it was meant to be a hidden Mickey.

Just as you are leaving the fighting scene, and about to get to the dunking Carlos scene. Right between those two, are alot of Hidden Mickeys. This is the ultimate pirates hidden Mickey, a real, honest-to-goodness Imagineer-made hidden Mickey, and I can't believe it hasn't been noticed yet. While I had the fortune to be able to take a close-up photo (no, I am not and have never been a Cast Member), it is visible from the boat. Right before the final ramp up, on the left is a pirate laying on a cannon. Behind him are two chest plates, one silver (on the left) and one gold (on the right). The crest on the gold one has -- plain as day -- a Mickey head smack dab in the middle. See for yourself in the photo.

I can't believe no one has noticed this!! In the room with the dog holding the key to a cell with pirates in it, one of the pirates is holding a rope with three loops. When the biggest loop is lowered as far as it goes, the three loops form our friend!!
REPORTED: Laura 11 JUL 99
At the end of the ride just before you go up the ramp if you look behind the pirate with the big hat you can see another hidden Mickey, he has on the same shaped hat as the first pirate in the ship.
REPORTED: Ruth Epperson 01 NOV 97
Just before you go up the ramp at the end of the ride, you come upon the final gun battle between the pirate captain, his first mate, and some unknown man firing his gun while riding a cannon. The captain is wearing the SAME hat as in the "battle scene" Hidden Mickey -- and the Imagineers have strategically placed a spotlight on his head in such a manner that the SAME Hidden Mickey is displayed on the back wall. While you're under the collapsing wood structure, look to the right of the captain. You'll see the shadow of his hat, and it looks identical to the shadow of his hat on the sail in the battle scene.

As the ride ends, just before the boats are brought around to the loading and unloading dock, the boats pass the front entrance island, where the lights fade in and out, "Pirates of the Carribean". On this little island, where there's treasure here and there, look to the left most edge of the treasure map - you'll see a little treasure trunk with jewels sticking out of it - there's a medallion made of three 'ruby' circles. There are two flat circles on top of one larger cirle. They are of flat red glass. It forms a hidden Mickey.
REPORTED: KCerridwen10 APR 99
In Pirates of the Carribean, at the very end of the ride (as your boat heads toward the unloading docks) right below the fiber-optic Pirates sign, a 3-circle Hidden Mickey treasure sits. It's a little gold thing with three "rubies" set in it to make the Mickey. I pointed it out to my mom and best friend every time we went on the ride, and they never believed me!!! You can't see this Mickey from the line to get in--that's why I said it was at the end, not the beginning, of the ride--although you can see the sign.

Every time me and my family go to disneyland i notice this hidden mickey but never went to find out if it were true. But look for your self, and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
