Disney continually updates its parks and attractions. Due to refurbishments, Hidden Mickeys are lost forever.
When you notice that a Hidden Mickey was lost, please report
it so that it can be remembered here.
This page is dedicated to those Hidden Mickeys lost forever in the parks and the Imagineers who created them. They may be lost
in reality but they will live on in cyberspace.
A Hidden Mickey was programmed into the new IllumiNations 25 show at Epcot.
REPORTED: Robert W. DiAddezio 16 OCT 96
This note is to confirm the presence of a
Hidden Mickey in the night-time spectacular at Epcot.
The show is divided into three acts:
Act 1 - honors the countries and the guests representing them.
Act 2 - Future World and the promise of discovery
Act 3 - The Circle of Life honoring the way we all live together
In Act 3 there is a guitar solo about 30 seconds after the start of the
song "Circle of Life". A fan scan created by the overhead, land based
lasers is projected over the lagoon. After that scan goes away, three
circles spin in from left, right, and above to meet and form a tri-circle
Mickey head. It is best viewed from Showcase Plaza directly across from The
American Adventure, however it is projected from all three land based lasers so can be seen around the lagoon.
CONFIRMED: Barton Wells 26 OCT 96
When standing in front of American Adventure at night you can look
across the lagoon at Space Ship Earth and see that the colored lights
shining on the side of the "Ball" form a Hidden Mickey.
CONFIRMED: Daniel Kierstead 16 JUN 97
I was watching Illuminations from Mexico, and almost to the end of it, when all the lasers are going nuts, I look towards France, and in the smoke, I can see a perfect Mickey being projected with the lasers. It only lasted about 5 seconds, but it was there.
CONFIRMED: Stephen Kelm 27 AUG 97
After viewing Illuminations at Epcot from the World Showcase, we noticed a Sorcerer's Mickey outlined in lights on the Big Spaceship Earth ball. After the show was over and the crowd was filing out of the park, we noticed it. It was not visible during the fireworks/laser show.

The Hidden Mickey in the constellations at the start of the ride was taken out when the ride went in for rehab.

CONFIRMED: Paul Rinella 16 OCT 96
The hidden Mickey constellation at the top of Spaceship Earth is there, but it isn't the tri-circle Mickey. At the very top of the starfield Mickey appears in profile. If the starfield is turning, it must turn on a vertical axis, because Mickey is always at the top. Also, I am an astronomer and was unable to identify the constellations, so I doubt the starfield is astronomically correct.
CONFIRMED: Elizabeth Ferrara 14 JAN 97
You will pass a part with the earth is picture on the wall (the earth is spinning, sometimes). Look at the earth, on the top there are stars that form the constellation of Mickey's ears, the earth is the head of Mickey. Good luck in finding this one, it's pretty tricky!
REPORTED: Lisa Mitrovic 09 JUN 98
Vortex...as you leave the load area, you could look up at the starfields and see a WDI
intended Hidden Mickey among the star constellations. This was accidentally lost during
the 1994 Rehab (refurbishment).
LOST: anon 07 AUG 99
There is a Mickey constellation in the stars at the very top. I rode 5
times in succession and only saw this once. The stars on the dome are
revolving very slowly around a horizontal axis, so it may take a few rides
to see it. I found it easier to see if I squinted at the patterns.
REPORTED: Graham Allan 06 SEP 93
I saw the Mickey constellation at the very top of the dome. It was kind
of hazy, and I wasn't sure I found it, but a Cast Member told me that I
wasn't dreaming.
CONFIRMED: Kathy Nicklas-Varraso 22 MAY 94
I must question the Hidden Mickey in the planetarium at the top of the dome. The "star ball" was manufactured by an outside firm that designs planetariums and is licensed as "astronomically correct."
UPDATE: a Cast Member at Epcot 14 MAR 95
There seems to be some confusion between the small starfield in the loading area and the large starfield that fills the top of the geosphere. There was a tri-circle Mickey constellation in the load area, but it is no longer there. There is not now, nor ever was, a Mickey constellation at the top of the geosphere.
NOTE: TR Shaw 15 SEP 96
There are several star scenes. In one of the earlier ones which is on the right, the stars outline the top shape of Mickey's head as though he were peeking over the bottom. I rode through twice just to make sure I saw it and it is the top half of the Mickey icon (the two small circles and half the bigger one).
UPDATE: Crissy Beckner 01 JAN 98
The only starfield on the right is at the Phoenician scene. There is no Mickey in the stars. If it isn't this scene Crissy is talking about we apologize but we couldn't see any other stars on the right before the top.
WISHFUL THINKING: Jeff Carter & Kristy Miskoff 24 JAN 98
As you start going up, there are stars on the ceiling (before you hit the lightening screen) the stars make a perfecto hidden Mickey constilation.

In the new virtual reality show, Disney Vision, that just opened in Epcot, there is a
sequence in the movie that when the driver looks at the magic carpet if
he looks far enough you can see Mickey's gloves. It makes it look as if
the pilot of the carpet was Mickey himself.
REPORTED: Luguer 08 JUL 94

If you are sitting in the Electric Umbrella restaurant, sit to the right of the food concession area (this is as you are looking at the food lines), sit to the right of this area and get a seat near the window.
Look out the window at the doors to the Centorium Shop. There are different colored circles on the
automatic doors. Every time the
door to the Centorium Shop opens, the circles will line up to form a classic Mickey. When the doors close, the Mickey
is gone again.
REPORTED: Wayne Stoler 12 APR 96

There is a Hidden Mickey at Epcot in the Universe of Energy. It is not
there all the time, but is there. In the first dino room, after the
opening movie and being seated, as the storm starts and the lighting
begins, Three spot lights come on forming Mickey's Head
REPORTED: Brian Hellhake 11 JUL 95
Although I cannot confirm the Hidden Mickey in the dinosaur diorama,
another Hidden Mickey in the Universe of Energy is in the film presented on
three-screens in the second theatre (the film begins immediately after all
six travelling theatre cars exit the diorama). Halfway through the film, a
satellite equipped with two solar panels passes over the earth in the center
screen. As the satellite cruises past the crest of the earth and into space,
the satellite, silhouetted against the black backdrop of space, forms
Mickey's head while the two solar panels form his ears.

In the scene where the turn of the century couple is going bike riding,
the bicycle wheels form a Hidden Mickey where the man is stuck in the
mud with the pigs and the woman is laughing at him. Right above the
man's head the three bike wheels form a Mickey. This is more obvious, as
you turn your head back while going into the next "room".
REPORTED: Kathy Nicklas-Varraso 22 MAY 94
This appears to be wishful thinking
too - my wife noted that the wheel that would be the head is smaller than the
ear wheels. Believe it or not, I think this is supposed to be not a hidden
Mickey, but in fact justthree bicycle wheels. Chalk it up to coincidence.
WISHFUL THINKING: Dan Amrich 24 SEP 95
In the World of Motion, there is a transitional corridor
between the invention of the wheel and the bicycle room. In this
corridor there is a continuous projection of wheels of different
sizes made on the wall and overhead as the ride car passes through.
The projected wheels form the Mickey silhouette several times during
the interlude.
REPORTED: Rob & Liz Lindsey 17 SEP 95
It is in the scene where there is a crash between a horse drawn vehicle
and a car. The Hidden Mickey is on the right hand side on top of the

the middle and two circles for ears.
REPORTED: Russell Miliner 123 OCT 95
In the World of Motion, in the scene where the men are showing the Egyptian
king the invention of the wheel, the king is sitting on a dias (this is on
the left of the ride). Behind the king is a wall, and on each side of him are
designs. To the right of the king, toward the top of the designs, are two
brown circles, and from those circles comes the outline of Mickey's side
view... Mickey is looking up! Look for the two brown circles, they are fairly
easy to spot, and that was how I found this Hidden Mickey. I can't believe I
found one that hadn't been found...especially since the ride's going to be
renovated next year!
REPORTED: Cindy Conn 07 NOV 95
The ride is now know as Celebrating the Land. The ride, "Listen to the Land," was refurbished and reopened in 1994 as
"Living with the Land."
During the refurbishment these Mickeys were lost.
In the "Living with the Land" boat ride (previously "Listen to the Land")
the opening "leaf and vine" section is no longer there, so any Mickeys

above the barn in the farming scene. (unconfirmed)
We missed both of these, and we were looking.
REPORTED: Shawn M. Witzki 27 JUN 93
I did not, however, see the horseshoes. There is a single horseshoe
directly above as you enter the barn, and a row of them off to the left
just after the entrance (though it's real dark in there). It's possible
that this one has been removed (it's on the official Epcot Outreach Hidden Mickeys
list).
REPORTED: Graham Allan 06 JAN 94
There are lots and lots of different-sized circles painted on the walls
behind the vines, and I picked out one definite Hidden Mickey on the right just as
the boat has turned about 90 degrees from the loading dock. It's on the

During the ride, passengers travel through three large
"movie screen rooms," where they are completely surrounded by film footage.
The third screen contains computer graphics - the same ones used when Flynn

It's not really a secret as much as an oversight by some imagineers: In
Epcot's World of Motion, there is a large mock-up of the back half of a
paddle boat. The left side of the boat is visible as you make a right-hand
curve. You will notice that the paddle wheel is spinning clockwise, which
would drive the boat backwards.
