A large Hidden Mickey has found its way to Walt Disney World
property. This Hidden Mickey is not at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot or the Studios. It can't
be found at any resort hotel or water park. It isn't at Pleasure Island
or Discovery Island. The Hidden Mickey can be found on Interstate 4 (I-4) past exit 25.
About 2 miles
west of the 417 (Greenway) interchange and about a mile from 192
between mile marker numbers 61 and 62. There is a power
substation on on the west side of I-4.
The substation had requirements for a Y connecting tower. Instead
of the normal Y pole, they have a 80 foot Mickey pole. It's
made of three rings making Mickey's head and ears.
The absolutely outstanding 'not-so-hidden' Mickey is part of Celebration's high voltage transmission line. At night its brightly lit so you can't miss it. There is a picture
of it in the June 27th, 1996 issue of the "Eyes and Ears."

Tampa Electric Company built transmission lines to help supply Walt Disney World, Orlando, FL (Reedy Creek Improvement District) with bulk power. To celebrate the new relationship between Tampa Electric and Disney, Tampa Electric built a trasmission pole to the exact dimensions of the Disney Mouse Logo. The pole is visible from I-4 between Tampa and Orlando and is lighted at night. The manufacturer of the huge rings also made the rings for the Olympic Stadium in Atlanta. I will send a photo if I can find one in the archives.

On I-4 westbound, just past the Disney exits, there is an electrical sub-station. The very first high tension pole leading out of the station contains the familiar "three circles".

As you travel past Disneyworld West on Interstate 4 towards Tampa, there is a Metal telephone pole that is in the shape of a Mickey. It is on your right hand side as you travel towards Tampa. It is roughly 5-10 miles west of the main disney exits.

As you are heading East on Interstate 4, going towards Walt Disney World, one of the electrical poles on the North side of the road is a not so Hidden Mickey. It is shaped like Mickey at the top of the pole - it's pretty big, and there are lights on it at night - so it's not too hard to find. It's sort of a welcome to Disney for all those coming from Tampa!!

I was reviewing a brochure for Celebration Health and noticed on the cover of the portolio -- in the hand-drawn landscaped area on the left middle of the page is a hidden Mickey.

I spent 5 days in Celebration Hospital. My sister pointed out to me that there are hidden Mickeys in the pattern of the carpeting. She made me get up and walk like I was supposed to and it was a pick-me-up to see the hidden Mickey's under our feet as we slowly made our way around the floor. We looked for other's but on the hospital floor I was on, and the fact that I didn't really get to check out the whole hospital, I would imagine that there are probably more elsewhere in Florida Hospital's Celebration site.
