The following is a listing of what is planned, currently under construction or newly opened at Walt Disney World. This information has been compiled from a number of sources. If I left something out that one of you folks out there might know about, then please share it with the rest of us.

Due to the attacks on the United States and the concern for guest safety, Disney security is inspecting all bags before you are allowed to enter the park.

  1. For Walt's 100th birthday bash over at MGM, the parade will have old fashion cars (and I mean like 30s-40s with no tops) with 100 Disney characters in the parade, some from movies not even out yet.

  3. Walt Disney World will begin a year-long celebration Oct. 1 to commemorate its founder's 100th birthday. Disney was born in Chicago on Dec. 5, 1901. He died in 1966, five years before Disney World opened, but after he had selected the site and after Disneyland in California had been in operation many years. Disney-MGM Studios will erect a 122-foot-tall hat of Sorcerer Mickey from the animation movie Fantasia at the end of Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Chinese theater at the park. Disney isn't revealing many details of the event, other than saying it will feature new entertainment and attractions throughout the Disney resort. Disney said that some new attractions will be in place in time for the celebration. There will be a Disney-MGM Studios version of "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire." There also will be new ride in the Magic Kingdom, named for Aladdin.

  1. The Doug Live! show has been removed from the park. It will be made into an area for 100 years of Disney Magic with a look back at the Studios history later this year.

     From what i have heard, the area that used to house Doug Live! will be madei nto a area featuring Snow White as a tribute to Walts first full length animation movie.

  2. Disney's MGM Studios has decided to make Star Wars Weekends an annual event running every weekend in May. Unknown is if Disney will keep this event even after Wpisode 3 has been released. Star Wars Weekends, for those of you who don't know is a event ever Friday, Saturday and Sunday in May where cast and crew from all Star Wars movies where you can meet them and get autographs from them as well as take place in trivia and other things that deal with Star Wars. Also if you go to the Animation tour area there is a seperate line for "Behind the Force", a look inside the making of the movies and for this year they have hints on what you can exspect in Episode 2. Next year they might have hints for Episode 3.

  1. The first part of the Backlot Tour is the Special Effects Water Tank. It has recently gone down for rehab and now is back up as "Harbor Attack," which is the new shows name.

  1. Guests are now allowed to travel on the backstage road between Oscar's and the Theater of the Stars. If you eat dinner at the Brown Derby, Hollywood and Vine or Mama Melrose, you get priority seating to Fantsmic. You take this route to get to your special seats at the Fantasmic Theater.

  2. There's lots of debate on this page about weather or not the dinner package seating is any good. I have always thought that the idea of being able to show up 30 minutes before a show and have a seat is a good thing, but people don't like being in the far two sections of the theatre. Well I have good news and bad news. Right now we are trying a new experiment at The Hollywood Hills Ampatheatre with the dinner package seating. We are now seating dinner package guests in The Mickey and Scar sections of the theatre (Mickey is the very center section, and Scar is one over from center) General seating will now start in Poca. and continue through Beast, then go back to Seabass. and continue through Witch. This is a good thing for dinner guests, not such a good thing for non-DP Guests. If this little experiment is succesfull, it will stay in place, and (here's the bad news) the restaraunts will start to charge extra for dinner package seating. So now you might get a better seat with your dinner package ticket but it will cost more!

  3. The Studios now has some new stores along Sunset Blvd. One is a candy store which is connected to a new villains store, which has clothing, costumes, & other stuff with Disney villains on it. There is also Fantasmic merchandise here.
